Rev. Leslie D. Callahan

The Rev. Callahan became the first female pastor of 119-year-old St. Paul's Baptist Church, located in the heart of Philadelphia, in May 2009. After ordination in 1997 at Judson Memorial Church, she served as Minister of Christian Education at the First Baptist Church of Princeton, New Jersey. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Harvard University/Radcliffe, Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary, and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Religion from Princeton University. She is interested in researching religious history in the United States, particularly independent African American Christianity and Pentecostal studies. In addition, Callahan served on the faculty of New York Theological Seminary (NYTS) as Assistant Professor of Modern Church History and African American Studies.
