Rev. Lucas Mix, Ph.D. studies the variety of concepts of life in science, theology, and philosophy. He earned his doctorate in evolutionary biology from Harvard in 2004, studying the evolution of photosynthesis. He has been involved with the NASA astrobiology program since 1999 and continues to consult for them on interdisciplinary communication.  Rev. Mix was ordained priest in the Episcopal Church (USA) in 2008 and has served as pastor and university chaplain.  He has taught on science and religion at the University of Washington, the University of Arizona, and Harvard.  Dr. Mix is also a member of the Society of Ordained Scientists.  This fall, he will be working at the Center of Theological Inquiry in Princeton, NJ.  He has written a book on astrobiology (Life in Space: Astrobiology for Everyone, Harvard, 2009) and maintains a blog (https://dacalu.wordpress.com).
